What Boards and Boxes Do I Need

A Single Cake

Board:     At least 2 inches bigger than a round cake, and at least 4 inches bigger than a square cake

Box:     Same size as the board

Stacked Cakes (one cake upon another)

You should transport each cake separately and stack them on site.  Never transport a stacked cake!

For the bottom cake

Board:     At least 2 inches bigger than a round cake, and at least 4 inches bigger than a square cake

Box:     Same size as the board

For the other cakes

Board:      Same size as the cake

Box:     At least 2 inches bigger than the cake.  For square cakes, you may find that a box that is 4 inches bigger is much easier to use.

Special Notes:  Be sure to cover both sides of the cake boards.  Use a non-skid pad under the cake board to keep the cake from moving around inside the box and smashing all your hard work.

Tiered Cakes (cake on plastic plate separated by pillars)

You should transport each cake separately and assemble them on site.  Never transport an assembled cake!  You do not need to use a plate for the bottom cake.  If you want, you can put the finished cake on its plate and place the plate in the box.
